for Reefer Cargo Handling at Global Terminal
Effective
June 08, 2010
Delivering Export Reefer Loads
Drivers
should have the necessary paperwork with them when they arrive rather than
waiting for faxes or emails. Global
Terminal reserves the right to void out drivers if the paperwork doesn’t arrive
within a reasonable time.
Drivers
delivering export reefer loads to the pier need to present two (2) clean dock
receipts with the following information.
1. Booking
number
2. Vessel
and Voyage number
3. Commodity
4. Temperature
setting and ventilation requirements
Returning Empties
Returning
empties with gen-sets attached must go to the gen-set mounting area to have the
gen-set removed or disconnected before disposing of the container.
Dropping a refrigerated
container without being properly processed by the Reefer Dept. will result in a
charge of $128.15
Gen Set Releases for Import Pick Up
Drivers
picking up a live reefer load without a gen-set, must
have an account set up with Global. To set up an account please contact the
steamship line for authorization and then
To
check the gen-set requirement status, go to the refrigeration monitoring link
on the Global web site, enter the container in the search box and hit
Search. To change the requirement,
log-in or contact the appropriate party listed below. Releases should be
inputted prior to the drivers’ arrival at the terminal, to avoid delays in
picking up.
